Hey There

Hello there my name is Katerina and I am the woman behind Extra Lox, my story is a little unique as I have  always loved hair but it was not a straight path to becoming a hair extension technician. I knew I always wanted to be self employed and make my own way in life, that's why I chose to study business studies all my life but I just hadn't figured out exactly what business I was going to start.

Even at university I did most of my friends hair, whether it was styling or little trims, I never stopped loving hair. After I graduated I stayed in my part time job feeling lost, then a few years later covid hit followed by a nationwide lock down. Finding it impossible to find a job I started a jewellery business, then shortly after all my hair began falling out, whether it was the stress or the covid I contracted I do not know.

I lost the one thing that made me feel me, I lost the one thing I loved to do most in the morning, my hair. I tried hiding the hair loss in every way possible but it became impossible over time and then came the time I had to completely shave it off.

 

During my desperate times to regain my hair and grow it out I longed for my old self, I wanted nothing than to look into the mirror and see myself again and not this strange reflection that looked nothing like me, or atleast not the me I knew.  

 

Desperate I threw myself into a drastic search for hair extensions, hoping to get my hair and confidence back. After a long search I was finally able to find someone who was able to fit extensions in my short hair and give me back what I longed for the most, my hair.

I wanted nothing more than to give the confidence boost I had, to everyone. Whether they want volume, length or are recovering from hair loss I want to be able to help in any way possible and spread the joy of regaining your confidence, your identity and your happiness. This is when I decided this is what I need to do, so I went to a training day and qualified in nano rings, micro rings, tape ins and level 1 hair cutting.

I am working on building a home salon and provide mobile/home visits, no one gets excluded at Extra Lox.
